• to add an arm to a tripod, the 1/4" 3/8" threaded rod is easily removed so you can screw other 1/4-20 3/8" attachments into it as needed.
• to mount mini-ellipsoidal lights onto lighting tripods. They work just fine.
• Great for mounting your gobo projection light on top of my photography tripod.
