Mount the transformer at least 1ft above ground level to prevent water pooling, and position the photocell sensor where it has an unobstructed view of the sky - away from porch lights, street lights, and deep shade - to ensure accurate dusk-to-dawn switching. Fastlock connectors are not waterproof; wrapping each connection with self-fusing silicone tape after installation is strongly recommended for long-term reliability. This system is compatible with most existing 12V landscape wiring, including setups originally installed with other brands. Simply connect the 18AWG pigtail wires to your existing main cable using the included Fastlock connectors. The 400W transformer also supports expansion: if you plan to add more lights later, the remaining capacity (400W minus current load) accommodates additional fixtures within the rated limit.
