The AXDI-GM5 data interface provides a seamless solution for upgrading your 2005-2006 Chevrolet or Pontiac vehicle's factory radio while preserving essential factory features. This interface maintains critical safety functions including blind spot alerts and factory warning chimes, ensuring you don't lose important driver notifications during your audio system upgrade. Designed for non-amplified systems or factory amplifier bypass applications, it delivers stable 12-volt, 10-amp accessory power and supports essential navigation outputs such as parking brake, reverse, and speed sense signals. The interface features an onboard speaker that preserves all factory warning chimes, maintaining the original alert system you're accustomed to. It retains RAP (retained accessory power) for a factory-style experience and keeps balance and fade controls fully functional for optimal audio performance. The unit supports high-level speaker input and offers firmware updates via USB Micro B connection for long-term compatibility. Note that this interface is engineered for vehicles without OnStar retention and is not pre-wired for steering wheel controls, which require a separate AXSWC interface if desired. Always verify your specific vehicle compatibility before installation.
